I am making this bike as 'operationally perfect' as I can while not removing the 'patina' of age from it. So: cleaning; replacement of non-visible worn parts (engine interior bits, seals, shock springs, etc); replacement of all safety-related worn parts (brakes, suspension bits, cables); halting of rust, but not removal of old rust or resultant damage, or removal of other non-safety-impairing damage. So hopefully it will look like it is being cared for, but not like it is being babied.
